Rising Star Program – Terms & Conditions
1. Eligibility & Admission
- Admission to the Rising Star Program is by invitation or evaluation only.
- Students must complete a Trial & Placement Lesson, after which eligibility will be determined by senior faculty.
- Viva reserves the right to reassess placement or discontinue participation based on student progress, commitment, or conduct.
2. Lesson Attendance & Scheduling
- Lessons must be attended regularly and on time. Students who miss more than 2 lessons in a term without valid reason may risk dismissal from the program.
- Make-up lessons are provided only for absences due to medical or family emergencies, with at least 24-hour notice.
- Lessons are scheduled based on teacher availability. Rescheduling is subject to availability and not guaranteed.
3. Parental Commitment
- Parents agree to support consistent practice and attendance at lessons, mock exams, masterclasses, and performances.
- Regular progress reviews and goal realignment meetings will be scheduled each term. Parental participation is expected.
4. Program Components
- Inclusion in masterclasses, competitions, and DSA preparation is at the discretion of the faculty.
- Participation in public performances or competitions may require additional rehearsals, travel arrangements, and fees.
5. Fees & Payment
- Rising Star Program may incur additional fees beyond standard tuition (e.g., masterclasses, exams, competitions, accompanists).
- Fees must be paid in advance of each term. Late payment may result in suspension of lessons.
6. Accelerated Advancement
- Advancement through grades or skipping levels will only be permitted based on:
- Teacher’s professional assessment
- Completion of readiness criteria
- Parental approval
- The school reserves the right to defer advancement if foundational gaps are observed.
7. Media Consent
- Students may be photographed or recorded during lessons, recitals, or events for educational and promotional purposes.
- If you wish to opt out, please inform us in writing prior to the start of the term.
8. Withdrawal Policy
- A minimum of 4 weeks’ notice is required for withdrawal from the program.
- Fees for the current term are non-refundable once classes have commenced.
9. Student Conduct
- Students are expected to show discipline, respect, and a high level of commitment.
- Persistent lack of preparation, disruptive behavior, or non-compliance with program standards may lead to dismissal.
10. Liability & Disclaimer
- While every effort is made to ensure a safe and enriching learning environment, Viva School of Music & Ballet is not liable for any injury, loss, or damage sustained during program activities.
- All decisions regarding student placement, advancement, and performance participation are final and made in the best educational interest of the student.
