Ballet Rising Star Programme – Terms & Conditions
1. Eligibility & Admission
- Admission to the programme is by audition or evaluation only.
- All dancers must complete a Trial & Placement Class, assessed by senior ballet faculty.
- Viva reserves the right to reassess a dancer’s placement or discontinue participation based on progress, conduct, or commitment.
2. Attendance & Commitment
- Consistent attendance is essential. Dancers may not miss more than 2 lessons per term without valid reason.
- Make-up classes are provided for absences due to medical or family emergencies, subject to availability and 24-hour notice.
- Students must attend all required rehearsals, mock exams, clinics, and performances to remain eligible for program components.
3. Parental Involvement
- Parents must commit to:
- Supporting consistent practice at home
- Ensuring punctuality for classes and rehearsals
- Attending bi-annual goal-setting and evaluation meetings
- Optional video recordings of rehearsals or performances will be made available where applicable.
4. Programme Features & Performance Opportunities
- Participation in masterclasses, showcases, competitions, or DSA prep is by teacher invitation and based on readiness.
- Some activities (e.g., competitions, masterclasses, performance events) may require additional fees and time commitments.
5. Fees & Payment
- Ballet Rising Star Programme fees are billed termly, and may include additional charges for:
- Masterclasses
- Costumes
- Audition coaching
- Competition entry fees and rehearsals
- All fees must be paid in advance. Late payments may result in suspension of classes until settled.
6. Accelerated Advancement
- Skipping grades or advancing faster than standard syllabus pacing is subject to:
- Teacher evaluation
- Completion of foundational technique milestones
- Parental approval
- Viva reserves the right to pause advancement if readiness criteria are not met.
7. Withdrawal Policy
- A minimum of 4 weeks’ written notice is required to withdraw from the programme.
- Fees for the current term are non-refundable, regardless of withdrawal date.
8. Student Conduct & Expectations
- Dancers are expected to:
- Demonstrate discipline, focus, and coachability
- Wear the correct uniform and maintain personal grooming standards
- Respect their teachers, peers, and studio property
- Repeated disruptive behavior, poor preparation, or breach of studio rules may result in dismissal.
9. Media Consent
- Viva may take photos/videos during classes, rehearsals, and performances for training and promotional purposes.
- Parents may opt out by notifying the school in writing before the start of term.
10. Liability & Safety
- All dancers participate at their own risk. Viva School of Music & Ballet is not liable for any injury or loss sustained during classes or events.
- Parents must disclose any existing medical conditions or injuries upon enrolment and notify the school of any changes.
11. Programme Adjustments
- Viva reserves the right to make changes to the programme schedule, instructors, or content as needed to maintain quality and continuity.
